Maximilian Böther (born 1998 in Hildesheim) is a Ph.D. student at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He is part of the Systems Group and the Efficient Architectures and Systems Lab (EASL), supervised by Ana Klimovic and Gustavo Alonso. His research interests include machine learning systems, data-centric machine learning, and efficient data processing. He has published several papers at renowned venues (e.g., VLDB, ICLR, DaMoN), received a Best Paper Award at GECCO’21, and a Best Poster Award at ISMB/ECCB’21. He has interned at Google, experience working as a system administrator, software engineer, interned as Entrepreneur in Residence at a SaaS startup, and spent four years as member of the federal board of the Junge Liberale (“Young Liberals”) in Germany.
